Back by popular demand! This is an 8 month long BOM quilt class. Each month a different specialty presser foot or attachment is featured and used to make at least two blocks. We’ll explore many of the decorative stitches built into your machines. Learn how to use, on your sewing machine, many of the beautiful heavy weight decorative threads that can’t go through a needle eye. Also learn to make a few fancy embellishments. In class, the featured foot or attachment will be demonstrated and you can practice on scrap fabric or work on your actual block. There is homework! Each class session is 3 hours long but not enough time to make the blocks. Very often the foot and techniques are demonstrated in class and you may practice on some scrap fabric. Then plan to do the actual block at home. The quilt, designed by Lynda Howell of Stitch Connection, has been modified for Quilt-As-You-Go (QAYG), so you have the option of QAYG or traditional make-the-top-and-then-quilt. Feet purchased from Charlotte Sewing Center for the class are discounted. We carry Pfaff and Babylock feet, and soon will have Viking feet as well. All machine brands are welcome in the class, but if you have a different machine brand, you will have to purchase the feet elsewhere.
