CANCELLED - Versatile Tote - for embroidery hoops, laptop computer, or something else! Sept. 19 and 22, 10:00am - 3:00pm
The design was inspired by a photo and was custom designed and made by Susan for her stepdaughter who wanted a bag to carry her laptop and ipad. Susan uses her bag, with a zippered top, to store embroidery hoops and manuals for her Babylock Destiny sewing/embroidery machine, see photo below, and plans to make another bag for hoops for a different machine. Come join the fun!
Make the exterior of the bag from quilting-weight cotton fabric, home décor fabric or another fabric of your choice. The internal structure of the bag is provided by a product called In-R-Form, a batting-substitute that is very easy to sew through and provides a little more structure than does batting. It, and similar products, are available from Inspira®, from Bonsal and from others.
Great project for either sewing machine or serger. Susan used her serger for most of the construction; a sewing machine is needed for some of the stitching. But, of course, it can be made totally on a sewing machine.
You will receive the materials list and pre-work instructions from Susan via email prior to the class. If you have questions about the class, contact Susan by email (debonair2@bellsouth.net) or by cell phone (704-674-4391).
