The bag is approximately 12” x 8” x 4-5” deep with various size zippered pocket ‘pages’ inside to hold small items. You can design your own pocket pages to hold whatever size items you wish. The pocket pages are held in the bag with Hoop & Loop tape (aka Velcro) so they can easily be removed to take with you to the sewing machine and so additional pages can easily be added. The bag also has a large outside pocket for bulkier items. It zips closed and has an exterior handle for carrying.
The bag support comes from a soft foam. Inside pockets can be made of vinyl or organza. Make custom-sized zippers using by-the-yard zipper coil. The outside looks like cording but it is not; it is a much easier technique.
You will receive a materials list as well pre-work instructions for cutting out the components. Much of the sewing will be done in class but there will also be homework between the two classes.
The Class fee is $40 which includes the pattern and instructions. A kit, containing all zipper coil, zipper tabs and hook/loop tape, webbing and vinyl (not organza) needed for the bag and 3 pages will be available for $30. (Each ‘page’ is double width, about 19" wide by 11" high.) Note that zippers will be custom created for this bag application.
Foam for the inner structure will be available from Charlotte Sewing Center at a discounted price.
