Serger Techniques - Serged Modern Table Runner - April

Learn serger techniques and ways to use some optional feet and accessories available for your serger.  This class was written for the Baby Lock 8-thread serger but can be adapted to make on the Baby Lock 4-thread serger.

Techniques featured in the making of this project are:
  • chain stitch quilting
  • wide cover stitch and making 'bias strips'; not necessarily on the bias
  • serger binding
  • using decorative, heavier weight threads
  • 2-thread flatlock stitching
  • 4-thread overlock
Optional accessories highlighted in this class include:
  • Open Toe Foot
  • Quilt Guide
  • 3/4" Belt Loop Binder
  • Lace Applicator Foot or Blind Hem Foot
If you have any of these accessories, bring them to class.  If you do not have them, learn about them and decide if they can make your serging experience better.

Click here for the Materials List and Prework.
Note: if you prefer placemats, the same supplies will make 2 placemats instead of 1 table runner.
