Embroidery Techniques - Poppy Garden Flag In-the-Hoop - June
Not just a project class, this is a TECHNIQUES class. This project includes quilting in the hoop and applique in the hoop. Learn hooping, fabric preparation and stitch out techniques to improve applique and quilting in-the-hoop projects; tips and techniques that are not included in the purchased project pattern/design. Also, get tips/techniques for aligning match-points when sewing blocks together, flattening seams and more.
In class we will be making a garden flag which can be used as a wall hanging. Stitch more blocks to make a table runner. See the inspiration file attached. 8 blocks make the garden flag so there will be 8 hoopings or perhaps 4 hoopings by using larger hoops and stitching 2 blocks in one hoop. We will plan that together in the class, depending on the size hoops you have. The stitched out blocks are sewn together and the backing is added using a sewing machine. The project will not be finished in class but you will leave class armed with all of the techniques needed to complete the project at home.
ABOUT THE DESIGN: Poppy Flag is a Sweet Pea design and is included in the class price. Block sizes are 4x4, 5x5, 6x6 or 7x7; choose the size you want to stitch. All block sizes, full photo instructions and directions are included. File formats included are DST, EXP*, HUS, JEF, PEC, PES VIP, VP3 and XXX. *BMP and INF files are also provided, these are recommended to be used with the EXP files for Bernina machines.
