Piecekeeper Bag

PIECEKEEPER BAG, a byAnnie pattern

Store and carry all your project pieces or supplies in this handy zippered bag with attached handle. Fabric quilted to a fabric-covered foam stabilizer makes a sturdy base and the mesh front affords great visibility of contents plus a bit of added stretchiness.

Are you new to bag making? Or maybe you’d like to improve bag-making skills? This simple bag project is a perfect way to learn many of the basic techniques used to make professional-looking bags.

As you make this useful bag, you will learn how to:

  • Quilt fabric to foam stabilizer.
  • Use Lightweight Mesh Fabric to make zippered pockets with mesh.
  • Prepare simple handles using interfacing.
  • Bind raw edges on flat projects with curved corners (including tips for going around corners, joining ends, and finishing the binding)

You will provide 3 Fat Quarters of fabric in coordinating prints/colors, matching thread for construction, a sewing machine and accessories, and general sewing tools. All else is included in the class fee: instructions, 24” handbag zipper, light weight mesh, foam stabilizer, interfacing. The mesh and zipper are a neutral Pewter Gray color that will go with most any fabric colors you choose.

The finished bag measures 11"H x 16"W.
