Join me in exploring mySewnet and Premier+2 embroidery software. This is a combination in-store and virtual class. If you plan to attend in person, be sure to sign up for the IN-STORE class. If you plan to attend remotely, be sure to sign up for the VIRTUAL class. Must have a basic familiarity with getting around in the software; this is not an introductory class.
TOPIC - Create Background Embossing, aka Knock Down Stitching, for deep pile fabrics
Software level required: mySewnet GOLD or PLATINUM or Premier+2 EXTRA or ULTRA.
Must have a basic familiarity with getting around in the software; this is not an introductory class. If you have questions about this, please contact Susan at firstname.lastname@example.orgClass Description:
See the white background stitching around the letters on the shaggy throw? That is the embossing, aka knock down stitching, that underlays the entire design, holding the nap down permanently and creating a little flattened-down area outside the embroidery design so the long nap of a shaggy fabric will not hide the embroidery. In this class we will use various tools in the software to create this background stitching several different ways. Most techniques will be applicable to the GOLD or EXTRA levels of the software and some will use the more advanced features of the PLATINUM or ULTRA level.PC vs MAC
I will be demonstrating using mySewnet software, PC version, so if you are using Premier+2, PC version your screens may look a bit different than mine, but the lesson does apply to the Premier+2 software also. The lesson applies, too, to the MAC version of the software but you need to know how to get around in the MAC software version.
Class Preparation for In-Store attendance: software loaded on a laptop computer to bring to class and updated to the most recent version. Plan to use a MOUSE. Even if you are proficient using the thumb pad, I have found it to be inefficient to use in the software during class.
These software classes are a combination of in-store and virtual via ZOOM. The in-store maximum attendance is 6 people and the on-line maximum attendance is 6 people. The lesson is projected so everyone is seeing the same thing. The advantage of in-store hands-on is being able to work along in the software. The advantage of virtual is that you can stay home but, unless you have 2 devices, you probably cannot work along in the software. The class will be recorded and the recording will be available after the class for a limited time. NOTE – THIS COMBO CLASS IS AN EXPERIMENT, SO WE SHALL SEE HOW IT GOES.
Class Preparation for Virtual attendance: A ZOOM link will be emailed to the Virtual attendees 24-48 hours before the class. Plan to log on 15-20 minutes before class to check your audio and video. Note that I cannot help with ZOOM technical problems. During the class, once the lesson has started, please plan to keep your microphone muted unless you are speaking.
