Each month a different technique. Fun way to learn and practice different piecing and quilting techniques. All are Quilt-As-You-Go blocks. Each quilted block will finish 12” square. Quilted blocks can be combined to create a quilt such as the 9-block quilt shown below, or to create table runners. Placemats, tote bags and pillows are other ways to use the blocks. Great opportunity to learn different piecing and quilting techniques while having some fun and camaraderie doing it.
June - Trapunto by Machine, shown above
In Italian trapunto means "to embroider," and in Latin it means "to prick with a needle." English and American quilters usually call the technique stuffed work. In the block shown the leaves are stuffed and the background is closely quilted with stipple or other close stitching.
