This is an optional follow-up class to the Swirling Lone Star (SLS) quilt class.  You will have made the quilt top, sandwiched it and stitched-in-the-ditch in the SLS class.  IN THIS CLASS we will quilt the BACKGROUND around the star on an embroidery machine.  You will be amazed at how quick and easy it is to quilt with your embroidery machine.

You will bring your embroidery machine, embroidery hoops (preferably,but not necessarily, magnetic), sewing supplies, your Swirling Lone Star Quilt and quilting thread that matches or contrasts with the background fabric in the quilt.  I will create quilting designs to fit the background areas of the quilt.  The quilting designs will not be continuous but they may be split designs.  A split design is one that requires more than one hooping.  As of this posting, they have not yet been designed.  They will be different from the designs in the photograph as that quilting was done on a long-arm machine. 

Quilting in the hoop can be done on any embroidery machine brand but for this class, the minimum hoop size is 130 x 180 mm (5 in. x 7 in.).  Hoops can be either magnetic or 'traditional' 2-piece hoops.
