Babylock Serger Basics 1 – Overlock, Rolled Hem, Flatlock stitched

Babylock Serger Basics 1 explains all the knobs, dials, levers, and markings on the serger and explores the set-ups for, and ways to use, the Overlock stitches: 3 and 4 thread overlock, 3-thread narrow and rolled hem stitches, 3-thread and 2-thread flatlock stitches.   Learn to neatly finish off the start and end of stitching lines, how to turn inside and outside corners, and how to stitch around the edge of a circle and neatly end the stitching. Learn what kinds of threads and techniques can be used for different decorative effects. Did you know you can sew in zippers, cover cord and create corded seams with the serger?

This is a 10-hour, hands-on NOTEBOOK class. You will learn and practice the techniques on fabric swatches and create a Samples Notebook for future reference. 

Class Materials and Supplies
All materials except regular serger thread will be provided and is included in the class fee. You will bring your Babylock serger , all of the accessories for the machine and 4 cones of regular serger thread; each thread cone is to be a different color. If you have a foot kit or optionally purchased feet, bring those to class also. You will not be required to use any optional feet in the class but some optional feet may be discussed and demonstrated.  Bring general sewing supplies - pins, scissors, extra needles, tweezers, tape measure, seam ripper, etc.  You will also want a thick 3-ring binder in which to store the samples you make in class.

This class is for BABYLOCK air-jet threading sergers ONLY:
4-thread serger models: Celebrate, Victory, Acclaim, Imagine, Enlighten
8-thread serger models: Evolution, Accolade, Triumph, Ovation
